Updates

Kara and Bobby closed on their house today and it is fantastic. We went to the new digs and ate pizza. It was kinda nice to go back in their big, empty bedroom and let Jack loose.

We have signed our contract and the seller has signed her part. Closing date is between now and November 20th...in theory, anyways.

Jack has moved up to the big boy room at daycare. There are a few more kids in his class and an extra teacher. He is eating regular food now too. He ate graham crackers and milk as a snack today. The graham cracker thing makes me nervous but Mrs. Mildred assures me his doing well with it. I'm not sure if they gave him regular milk in his sippy-cup or some of his formula. Interesting if they gave him regular milk because he's only had soy formula. I hope it is real milk. That will mean he is not lactose intolerant like Mom and frankly I am too much of a chicken to give him regular milk. Sometimes daycare does the dirty work and I find out later. I don't think that's such a bad thing.

Tomorrow is Halloween and we won't be having quite the laid back evening we had hoped for. JP has conferences all week in down town Nashville and doesn't get home until after 7 by the time he stops by the office. So we'll make a stop by both sets of grandparents for "trick or treat" and wish Grandaddy Jarboe a Happy Birthday.

Which reminds me that "Uncle Big's" birthday is coming up. I think he needs a Dirk bobble head.

Thanks Eric

for performing rituals and/ or praying, etc. Our offer was accepted on the house! It looks like (at this point unless something weird happens which is NOT unlikely with our luck) we'll move in to our new home before November 20! I'll send out information to friends and family individually. You never know what kinda crazies may be following your blog!

please

cross your fingers, pray, meditate, clean out your orifices, kneel, flog yourself, hug a tree or whatever you may do. We put an offer on a house and should hear back within 24 hours.

Chaos

Looking at homes. pre-approvals, and a trip to a casino (work for Jp, fun for Rachel). These are the fun things this week. Unfortunately it has not all been positive. JP's grandmother "Grandma Swift" passed away. She was a very strong lady and as tough as they come. She will be missed. PJ (JP's mom) seems to be doing well - but she is a super strong woman as well so this does not come as a surprise. They are driving to Minnesota in the morning so please keep the Swift family in your prayers.

and now for some pictures--as promised.

Jack and Adrien
Right before he tried to hug her.
Cole-Man and me.
Jack-a la'-mode.
He must be as sweet to the other kids as he is to me.
Sleeping was difficult for us all--but worth it!
Jack and Adrien...again.

Joy and Anger

Hello folks, tonight instead of your regularly scheduled blogger you get me, The Incredible Bulk! I'll start with the Anger portion of tonight's blog. So in the immortal words of Andre3000 "it goes like this right chere". Rachel is taking the night off as she typed out the most amazing post you'll never get to read. (I know what your thinking "that's not even possible how do you know what the most amazing thing I'll never read it" and I'll answer that with you're stupid. And now back to our regularly scheduled post)All joking aside she really did write a very good post that took her a long time and through no fault of her own the universe ate it.

The blame lies squarely on my shoulders. You see the new Ubuntu came out Thursday and it has a lot of really cool stuff I wanted to try. So to the dismay of my wife I've loaded it up. Now I know a lot of you are thinking "Jean, you are soooooo cool for being able to do that!" and you'd be right. But with all the solid software that came with the OS I also choose to load a program that's still in testing and somehow in the magical aether of the PC this program fragged Rachel's post.

I'm sure you've all heard the phrase hell hath no fury blah blah blah, well along with the fury comes the sadness of having spent a lot of time on a post and then having it disappear like so many boy bands. There are quite a few things I can tolerate but seeing my wife this visible upset isn't one of them. Plus I'm afraid she might set me on fire in my sleep.

So to wrap this part up: Honey I'm sorry my love for technology has made your evening suck. My bad, I'll make it up to you somehow.

And now for the joy part: I found it! It seems that the genius' at Google have built in an auto save so that losers like me won't get divorced. THANK YOU GUYS!

Well that's all for me for now
Seacrest out...

Jean will live to see another day (attempt 2)

I forgot to mention that I met my surgeon yesterday and I LOVE him. Surgery is tentatively set for February.

Today we met Scott
Trover with Coldwell Banker. He is super cool. I have such a good feeling about him. He has hooked us up with 11 houses to check out. We have narrowed it to 2 faves as of now. We still love the house on Crescent but now there's another one to add. It is approximately 107 years old and APPEARS so be in great condition. Of course, we'll have someone come and check it out to make sure it's structurally sound if we decide we can't live without it. It's pretty incredible.

We were working with
Churchill Mortgage to get a loan. They were moving at the rate of a snail so we asked Scott about loans and he hooked us up with a guy named Michael. He seems to think that our pre-approval is a "no brainer". The cool part is that we figured out he has known JP and his family for years. God sets 'em up, we knock 'em down!

Mid day we met up with Cole's "Nana" and he went home. After that we went to
RIssy and Bobby's to eat dinner. Adrien and Jack were so cute together. He loved watching her. He loves other children so much. He even hugged her. I thought maybe he just wanted to use her to pull up to a standing position but he just hugged her. It was so sweet. I'm not 100% but I think he tried to kiss her too. He kept leaning forward open mouthed to give slobbery kisses. He's never done that with anyone but her.

Seth and Kelly were at
Rissy's. It always reminds me how long we all go without seeing one another. It doesn't seem to matter as we never miss a beat (the trio)....even if Kelly did make fun of "Minnie" the mini-van.

Until tomorrow....peace out.

Thank God it's Friday....and over!

I'm not even sure where to start tonite. I guess the beginning might be the most "sensical" place.

Woke up this morning and went to work. Left the boys at home. No, not Jack and Murphy but COLE and Murphy. Cole is my friend Kim's Boxer and Murphy LOVES him. Like real love. They spent every day at Pet Safari (shakes fist) together. In case this blog pops up when you search the word Pet Safari---the owner sucks.

Anyways, the day was typical for me. Apparently it was NOT so typical for our friend, Dane. He is a vegetarian and was served a hamburger after requesting a Boca Burger at Red Robin (shakes fist again). Needless to say, he was given the correct plate AFTER the fact. Jerks wouldn't even refund his money! They gave him a gift card like he'll EVER go back.

Back on task here. We went to pick up Jack at daycare and Jean-Paul mentioned that Jack was the only baby there today so they put him in the big kids room. The big kids are only a year or 2 old and Jack will be moving to that room in a few weeks since he is crawling now. I thought that was probably exciting for Jack since he loves to watch other kids. He may have liked it BEFORE 9:30 this morning BEFORE he was bit by some brat. That's right. My kid was bitten at daycare at 7 months old. An age where he doesn't know how to get away, retaliate or even move his arm. I think I know the kid that bit him as she has also bit other children. Her parents are clearly geniuses because they took away her paci cold turkey during daycare hours and let's her have it at night. Isn't that considerate of them? So she takes out her frustrations on Jack and other kids and her parents don't even deal with it. Nice.

But here is the icing on the cake. Jack was crying as we walked out the door, It was an "I'm uncomfortable cry". My first thought was "Well, I WAS just poking at his battle wound" then I figured he was tired. As we pull out of the parking lot JP goes nuts for me to turn around ASAP because he is going to KILL someone at daycare. This is the ONLY information he gives me as Jack is screaming, he is yelling and I am on a busy road. It's a miracle I didn't drive in to a ditch. Turns out that J-Man had a chunk of plastic in his mouth and JP fished it out.

I called daycare (after a professional consult with Kim) and told them that we had found the plastic and that they needed to find the broken toy or whatever it was. We also discussed the bite mark, lack of phone call, and him being in the "big kid" room. The excitement never ends.

Daycare is great 99.9% of the time. He is 7 months old and could have put that in his mouth just as easily under my care. But even Murphy doesn't bite.

Pictures to follow (in the morning).

Busy day

I have been on the run all day. I took JP to work and Jack to daycare. Hung out at daycare for a bit and then took Murphy to the Jarboe's to play with Cooper and Bella. Then I went to the DMV to have my license updated. After that I went to a doctor's appointment (thanks, Kim!). All before 10am.

JP and I went to lunch and picked up the boy. Jack and I went home and hung out a few hours before I locked myself out of the car and apartment. I walked (and carried my 25 lb 7 month old) to the office. The nicest maintenance man ever was working and drove me back to my apartment and let me in for free.I ran in, grabbed my keys, and rushed to pick up JP from work.

We headed home and watched J-man crawl around for a while. He's really doing well! A bit later my parents came by with a birthday cake and shortly after that Kris came by with a Gloria Estevan inspired birthday card and his trademark Peanut M&Ms. I LOVE that.

We finally got Jack down and he has already been up once. I think he heard Kris laugh. He's nosy (like his mom) and can't stand missing anything. So now it's time to catch up on email, Reaper, Ghost Hunters, Days of our Lives (don't let JP act like he doesn't like it) and Pushing Daisies.

The End......I hope.

Jack-ie Darko.

These are the pics we took before heading out for work today. Jack refuses to smile when he sees a camera. He is so caught up with wanting to touch it and figure it out, we can't distract him and make him smile. SO I have ordered his "fall pics" from daycare--but no smile.

When we came home today he saw Murphy and started CRACKING UP. The only time he laughs like that is when JP tickles him. It was so cute. I busted out my camera...and nothing. He quit and stared at the camera.

Happy birthday...

to me. Another year down the drain. How's that for a positive attitude?

The last 2 days have been typical. Jack, work, Jack, work. Tomorrow is Jack's "Fall" pictures at daycare. He is wearing his SWEET glow in the dark Halloween shirt with his bad boy mohawk. Stay tuned for pics!

Warning: TMI

Today we went to the big Woodvegas for Dak and Amy's wedding. It was beautiful and had the coolest music ever. Lots of Smashing Pumpkins and Prince - does it get better than that? We also drove past Dak and Amy's new house and we might want to be their neighbors. Looks like there will only be 21 houses and it's on a dead end, I mean cul de sac. Who know what will happen?

Jack went to the MTCS auction and was nice and worn out when we got home. He is doing so well with the crawling bit. It won't be but another week or so before he's really on the go. I can hardly get him to sit down any more. He stiffens up and won't bend so that he can stand.

Maybe this is something I should keep to myself, but I'm not going to. My blog. You don't like it, I don't care. Go read something else. I have scheduled an appointment with a plastic surgeon for a boob job. HAHA! RIGHT! I'm actually looking in to a reduction and am VERY VERY excited at the prospect. A friend of mine had it done a few weeks ago and they look awesome and she is so happy. I can't IMAGINE how good it must feel! Hopefully I'll know soon! Sorry if this is TMI. I tend to speak my mind and give out too much information.

Last but certainly not least, my sister and I have agreed on getting tattoos on her 18th birthday in January. We're looking in to the Hebrew symbol for "sister". Pretty sweet, huh?

Will JP ever blog?

Outlook not good.

Jack spent the day at his Nana and Granddaddy's today and must have LOVED it since he came home and passed right out after his bath. Spent some quality nap time with Aunt Kara too.Rash is still pretty much the same.

We were "on call" today which is always lame and full of crazy. I woke up with a headache and it lasted until I finally took an anti inflammatory shot. I always wonder why I take so long to throw in the towel and take one. They work so quickly without any weird side effects.

Tomorrow is Dak and Amy's wedding. Ya ya will be taking care of the Jack man while we have adult time. It's also the Fall Festival at the christian school. I have always loved going to the auction at night. Seeing as how Jack's bed time is around 7, looks like I'll be missing it this year.

So tonight we sit on the couch with family and watch Reaper, Dexter, Pushing Daisies and Ghost Hunters. What's up with all the "dark" shows lately?

Click the picture to really see it well...

and the list goes on....

Jack's rash has spread across his entire body and seems to be getting worse. I know it will get worse before it gets better--but this just sucks.
Daycare called me again today. The teacher thought Jack had Thrush. Not a shocker since he has been on antibiotics the last 10 days and has another 9 days to go. Yaya picked him up and brought him to the clinic. Dr. B and I checked out his mouth and did not see any white stuff. Then she pulled back his lips an we saw a film that was starting to look a tiny bit bloody. She took a swab and sent it to the lab. Sure enough it was positive for yeast. So now we have to shoot Nystatin in both sides of his mouth 4 times a day on top of the twice daily antibiotic. Awesome.
Bless his heart. He looks terrible but still wants to play and crawl. He's definitely not himself but considering how he is starting to look, it's a miracle he's not miserable.

On a good note he has started pulling up without help. I think this is a good note.

Can't win for losing

Turns out Jack is allergic to Omnicef (cephalosporins). He had a nice rash pop up last night that I attributed to possible diaper rash. Daycare called me today at work and said it looked worse. I called the doctor and she called in round 3 of antibiotics. We'll try Augmentin tonight. Fingers crossed.

Funny thing is that the medical office could not figure out our phone system and thought they had reached a law office. I had laughed that "Jarboe, Jarboe and Murphy" sounded like an attorney's office. Guess I was right.

In other news....sounds like Bobby and Kara's house will be finished soon. Matt is taking his LS ATS in December and my sister will be 18 in a few months. I'll be 28 in a few days! What the!?!?!?

Click to enlarge the pics. They're so much better that way!

JEAN QUIT!

He keeps banging on the keyboard! Loser!

Here is a brief summary of the day:

  • Jack has his first ear infection.
  • He does not like strawberry, orange, or grape flavored medicine.
  • He loves mashed potatoes.
  • He weighs 24 lbs and 11oz.
  • We missed Bobby's birthday dinner.
  • JP makes chocolate chip cookies every night
  • I'm not sure why I keep gaining weight.
  • Cherry coke is my new BFF.
The end.

Happy Monday

and Happy Birthday, Bobby!

Today I got on to Jack for the first time. He has talons instead of nails, like his dad. He grabbed my face with both hands because I was rocking him to sleep and he wanted to sit up and play. He ended up grabbing me with those little knives and scratching my face, cutting a tiny place above my lip. I grabbed both of his hands and said "No!". What a joke. He all but laughed at me. Immediately after I said it to him I thought "Oh God-here comes the tears". Whatever. I was the only one that felt bad.

He has now decided to sleep on his stomach (he has never been a fan of "tummy time" until recently) 2 nights in a row. It goes against everything babycenter.com has drilled in to my soul. He's happy and sleeping so I let him be....

Oh-and I got a new set of cookware! It's red and black. I have never had NEW cookware. Laugh if you want, I'm pumped. Thanks, Dr. B!
