Snakes on a plane.....I mean my kitchen.

Here is the link to the Leather's Family Blog. Bobby has decided to open it up and allow us to follow a day-to-day blog from the father's view of pregnancy. This is unusual and exciting. It's like pulling teeth to make JP blog.

On a side note. If you decide to read their blog--and especially comment--please keep it positive. I know that everyone has their horrer stories and I have to admit that I like to share mine too--but now is not the time. Everyone has a different experience and every pregnancy is different. So allow me to be the bad guy and ask that you not tell Kara how horrible morning sickness will be or warn Bobby about mood swings. I learned through my marriage AND my pregnancies that the BEST news is good news and that people who always told me how awful everything was for them were not the people I wanted to surround myself with. I remember everyone's favorite marriage advice to me was "JUST DON'T DO IT". The ONE piece of advice that stuck with me was from Jennifer Langley. She told me that it was not always easy but it is one of the best things that could ever happen to you--and she told me to never go to bed mad and to TALK. I suppose misery loves company--but Jennifer's words went so much farther for me.

Back on "the negative train" track: Please don't get me wrong--up until this point I would be the FIRST person to tell you how hard it was and can be-but I usually save those stories for the non-pregnant and those who have gone through it Okay-I'm done with my protective tangent.

On a side note-one I NEARLY forgot some how-------------we found a freaking snake in our house last night! Technically, Murphy found the snake. Jack had been playing under the table all day-which is unusual. I had him in the "splash" and was about to wash his hair when I heard Murphy make this HORRIBLE bark. It lasted 5 or 6 seconds and was 3 barks total. If we had been outside I would have been convinced he had been hit by a car. However--he was in the kitchen. I freaked out--like I always do with animals--and stayed put in the bathroom while Jean and Kris ran to Murphy. He found a snake, rather the snake found him. (We did not find any "puncture" marks on Murphy until this evening. We did find a bite on his side that is swollen but he is not sick or acting oddly at all so we're watching it). The snake is 3 or 4 feet long. It has a small head and diamonds and spots on it's back. It clearly is not poisonous but of course we were not sure at the time. Kris and JP managed to use a stick (for real) to get it OUT of the back door (where we believe it entered after yard work) and it went up a tree. At that point they got it out of the tree and slung it in to the field behind our house. I prefer snakes dead--sorry snake lovers--but they did nature a favor and let it live.

I will post a pic soon. Kris got one with his cell.

UGH. SO GROSS!

Here's the link to Bobby and Kara. I will post a permanent link on our blog for easy access in the future.
