A long blog of tubes

Jack had his surgery this morning and did great-as hoped and expected. We arrived at the hospital at 6 am and he (after throwing a continuous hour long fit) went in to surgery at 7:30 am. He went right to the nurses and they walked him to surgery. He was a very big boy!
Our ENT was checking in with us by 7:45 am to tell us the actual surgery was over and that Jack had done well and was in recovery. The nurse was walking him in to recovery when we ran in to them. He was just sitting up and chilling out. He was all smiles and laughs. He drank a massive cup of apple juice (he had been fasting) and was ready to GO! The nurses brought us a red wagon to wheel him around in and he loved it. It kept him busy while we finished up the paperwork (which took 10 xs the time it too for the actual surgery). I can not say ENOUGH good things about the staff and doctors at MTMC. It was a fantastic experience.
It was pretty amazing: One of Jack's nurses knew me because she is MY patient, the sweet lady that volunteers and works in reception was also someone I am close to. We also ran in to Dr. Chesney,my OB-the doctor that delivered Jack. He talked to me for a few minutes in pre-op before combing the halls to see Jack and JP. Jack was screaming enough to upset the other kids in pre-op so he had been "banned" to the hall...hehe.
After surgery I took Jack to get some breakfast at Stones River Grill. The kid ate like he has never tasted food in his LIFE and has continued to do so since getting home. He has had cheese nips, cheetos, vanilla pudding, 2 gerber graduate meals, salad, pancakes and grits. Then there is the 7 or so sippy cups. He also took a few decent naps today.
Tonight we have tried putting him in bed 3 times now and he wakes up and is clings to us everytime. I think having mom at home today and all the weirdness of the morning and probably the strange feeling of his ears has him a little anxious.
Thanks to all who kept J-man in your prayers or whatever it is you may do. It worked!
